As we enter a new year, here are 12 Bible verses for mothers.  My hope is that these scriptures will encourage you, challenge you, and spur you on in your walk with Christ this year.  You can also download your own set of FREE printable Bible Verse cards to help you meditate on these scriptures!

If there is one thing that I have learned since becoming a mom – and especially since becoming a stay-at-home mom, it is that I simply cannot do this motherhood (or wife, or friend, or any other thing) thing on my own.

I have too often fought and striven to do more and be more in my own strength.  Looking up cleaning schedules or reading the routines of other moms who seem to have it all together in the hopes that if I could just get myself together, I could be better.

But, at the end of the day, there is ONE THING that I have found to be essential to my success as a mom, wife, friend, etc.  And that is spending time with God in prayer and in His word on a regular basis.  Meditating on Bible verses, praying scripture, and committing those words to memory.

Truly, this is the number one thing that continues to help me find joy in motherhood and marriage and everything else – even on hard and long days.

12 encouraging Bible verses for Moms plus free printable scripture cards for each month to help moms memorize verses My Original Intent Behind These Bible Verses for Moms

Truth be told, I wanted to have these verses up WAY earlier – even before the new year if I could. This would let us go through one verse per month for the whole year.

That obviously didn’t happen.  But, even still, I want to share these verses here as a way to encourage you in your walk this year.

Why We Need to Stay in the Word

The Bible tells us that:

“All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”  2 Timothy 3:16-17

Can we agree that motherhood is good work?  And what mom doesn’t want to be thoroughly equipped for the job?

But, let’s be real, how often do we feel completely out of our element and unequipped even for the basic parts of motherhood – much less those really hard days?
