Our 30 Week pregnancy update with Baby #3. Follow along as we prepare for our third baby and becoming a family of five! You can see all our pregnancy updates for baby #3 here.
30 weeks pregnant! How did we get here so quickly?! I mean, I know how we got here – one day at a time. But man, this third pregnancy has been FLYING by. I had the same kind of commentary at the start of our last pregnancy update and I’m not even ashamed about it. It still blows my mind how far along we are.
Like everyone else, we celebrated Thanksgiving last week and I was reminded of just how much we have to be thankful for. And a healthy pregnancy and growing baby boy is certainly up there on our list this year.
Now, we’ve gone head first into Christmas over here and we’re looking forward to celebrating this season with our family of four while we prepare to become a family of five in just a couple of months!

Here’s where we are this week.
30 Weeks Pregnant Updates:
How far along? 30 weeks + 4 days
Maternity clothes? Yes. All the stretchy clothes. And over-sized sweaters and long sleeve shirts. But I officially think my wardrobe is going to last these last few weeks, so I am thankful for that! (And frankly, already looking forward to getting back to non-maternity clothes. I’m itching for some new clothes this season, but can’t buy anything because who even knows what size I’ll be for a while after pregnancy.
Sleep: Not nearly as much as I should be getting. I am trying to work on better boundaries and regular routines, but also trying to get a lot done in these last few weeks so it is not always easy. I have been making really good progress on waking up earlier, now if I could just get to sleep earlier, we’d be good to go.
Best moment this week: It’s always hard to pick just one good moment and I’m thankful for that. We celebrated Thanksgiving with both sides of the family since our last update. I passed by glucose test to screen for gestational diabetes, we finished painting our downstairs (and started prepping to paint the upstairs). And we kicked off our Advent/Christmas season as a family on Sunday, which was super fun! So many things.
Movement: Lots of movement on some days, and harder to feel on other days. My doctor recommends counting at least 10 movements within a 2 hour frame and we are definitely at that. Hopefully baby boy will be calm and easy going.
Food cravings: Yep. All the food, still.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No, but still having lots of heartburn randomly throughout the day. Yuck.
Labor Signs: Nope.
Other Pregnancy Symptoms: With each pregnancy, I’ve had something different and/or a little bit unexpected. With this third pregnancy, it’s varicose veins. Like, why?! They aren’t terrible and also not painful, but I have developed quite a few swollen veins this pregnancy that I am not a huge fan of. Thankfully, my doctor isn’t concerned right now. And has given me a contact for a specialist to see if I want or need to. (And it’s on my list to call them this week just to talk with them, because I don’t love these things at all.)
Also, as a side note – any mamas out there reading this that might have dealt with varicose veins during pregnancy and had any luck finding compression leggings that are not see through, let me know! I can also get compression hose, but I would love not to wear hose underneath pants. And at this point in my pregnancy, leggings definitely count as pants…unless they’re see through. Then they are not pants.
Wedding rings on or off? Still on and holding strong!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Still mostly happy. But everybody has their days, right? Feeling lots of pressure with time flying by and wanting to make sure we soak in this season as a family of four. And also, not getting nearly as much sleep as I need.
Weekly Wisdom: Feeling really thankful for intentional family time. I don’t think that officially counts as “weekly wisdom”. But maybe the wisdom is just about making sure that intentional, quality family time doesn’t get neglected in the hustle and bustle – especially this time of year.
Milestones: Passing our glucose test. Making it to 30 weeks – it’s crazy to think that our sweet boy will be here within the next 10 weeks. Scheduling doctor visits for every 2 weeks rather than monthly. This always makes the pregnancy seem to really fly by for me since I’m in the doctor’s office so much more frequently. Before we know it, we’ll be there every week and then I’ll be packing a hospital bag because babies come on their own time and I want to be prepared.
Looking forward to: All the Christmas fun and activities this month! So much fun to be had around here!
And that’s it for this week! Nothing crazy, except the fact that we are so far along in this pregnancy. Praying everyday for healthy growth and development and for our family as we continue to prepare physically, emotionally, and spiritually for a new little one to enter our home. I know we’re all in for a big transition!
