Each day, I learn more and more that I must depend on God’s grace in order to best parent Little. Today I’m sharing 8 Bible verses that I pray often for Little as he grows up. Many of these are verses that I need to remind myself. A few of them are specific to Little.
It is my prayer that Little would come to know Christ as Lord, Savior, and friend. I want to model that well for him and show him the way. The Bible tells us to “Train up a child in the way he should go, so that when he is old he will not depart from it.” A big part of that for me is praying scriptures for Little as he grows.
8 Verses I’m Praying for My Child
For Wisdom and Courage
“My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad indeed; my inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak what is right.” Proverbs 23:15-16
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example to the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

“Iron sharpens iron; so one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17
To Rest in God’s Grace
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
That Good Gifts would Serve to Point Him to the Giver
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17
That He would Love Others Well
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27
That He would Keep His Mind on Good Things
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent and praiseworthy – think about such things.” Philippians 4:8
That He would Know Where Salvation Comes From
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

I really love this! Something I’ve been learning recently is to be more specific when praying, and I love how you listed specific attributes/types of knowledge/gifts complete with Bible verses with which to back them up.
