Now that Fall is officially here, I have been feeling more of a pull to get together all things cozy around here. Granted, our afternoons are still pretty hot here in NC, but we are embracing those cooler mornings and evenings – and even thankful still for warm afternoons to play outside.
Or maybe it’s just the start of a new season in general that has me feeling refreshed and wanting to refresh everything around me, too. Whatever it is, I’m excited to have some help from Simply Earth this month to naturally get our home in the fall spirit with October’s Essential Oil box.
This post is in collaboration with Simply Earth and contains affiliate links. As you know, I only partner with brands and products that I use and love and all experiences and opinions are my own. You can use my code ML20FREE to receive a $40 gift card to Simply Earth with your first box purchase!

Our Review: What We’ve Made So Far
Just like every month, when my Simpy Earth box comes in the mail, I spend a little bit of time going through it, then take a few minutes during quiet time in the afternoon to try out at least a couple of the recipe cards.
The diffuser blend is always the first thing I try out and then whichever cards I can most easily make and readily use are next.
Fall Diffuser Blend
The recipe card for this blend calls for a drop of each of the oils in this month’s box, but since I’m pregnant, I opted to just diffuse sweet orange oil and balsam fir oil.
It is the perfect blend of spicy and sweet, in my opinion. It smells fresh and inviting. And perfectly cozy for the Fall. At one point, I even forgot I was diffusing it and found myself trying to figure out what the smell was that was coming from the kitchen.
Of course, it was just this new fall blend just making things smell delightful over here!
Focus Lip Balm
Next, I started on the focus lip balm. I was excited to try this one out since I’ve been curious about making my own lip balm for a while. I used the beeswax, almond oil, and solid coconut oil that came in our Bonus Box last month to help with this one.
Once I melted the coconut oil and beeswax in a small glass bowl in the microwave (which took about 1 minute in 15 second intervals), I added a few drops of essential oils and carefully poured it into the lip balm containers.
To be honest, I was a little nervous about pouring it in without it spilling, but it turned out to be pretty easy and we got by without a mess.
As noted on the recipe card, this recipe did have a little left over that you could choose to save.
One thing I did notice when I added the label to my lip balm though – was that every ingredient is listed on the label in case you forget or want to make the recipe again. You can easily see exactly what’s inside.
DIY Candles
This box included recipes for two DIY candles, which I loved! Candles are a great way to make your home feel and smell cozy this time of year. That said, I didn’t have a small jar on hand to make them, but I am saving these cards for the holidays. I know they will make great gifts – and these cards make it look so simple!
And that’s what we’ve made so far this month! So many great fall inspired recipes and oils in this box – and you still have time to grab it yourself!
