And isn’t this how life is?
This dance that just keeps right on going between all these things. Sadness and joy, death and life, weeping and laughing, mourning and dancing. All of it. Together. Orchestrated ultimately for good.
And we don’t have all the answers.
The Bible talks about this in Ecclesiastes 3 – that there is a season for everything:
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens;
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
What do workers gain from their toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. He has made everything beautiful in its time.
I don’t have anything profound to say about any of this. It’s just what’s been in my head lately. For everything a season.
Maybe you’re in a good season now, or maybe your season is cold and rainy (that is almost the least ideal weather for me, so if you prefer it that way, just take the metaphor and bear with me).
But whatever you’re season looks like today, just remember that it’s just that – a season. It will pass and a new season will come. And He will make all of them beautiful in their time.
He is a good, good father and we can trust him to bring all things together ultimately for the good of those who love him.
I like it:) I think that now my season will be better:)
