And just like that we are in the dog days of summer over here. It is hot, hot, hot. And one of the ways we like to cool down around here is with frozen popsicles.
To be honest, we’ve been on the go so much this summer it feels like, I haven’t had the chance to make these as often as I did last summer. But, we just finished our second batch of these homemade ice pops, so I figured it’s high time that I share the recipe over here.
If you’re looking for a super simple, quick and healthy treat this summer, you are in the right place.
Fresh Mixed Berry Popsicles
The thing I really love about popsicles is that beside the fact that they are incredibly easy to put together, they really are a healthy treat since they don’t have added sugar. I didn’t, but you could even toss spinach or other veggies into the blender as well to make these even healthier.
A summer snack that Little loves and I don’t feel bad about giving him even if he asks every day? Yes, please.
*Note: This recipe makes 6 pops in our molds. Will be more or less depending on your mold.

Tools & Ingredients
You’ll need a blender and popsicle molds to make these frozen pops. I use this Ninja food processor/blender and my molds are old, but similar to these. (You can find popsicle molds on Amazon that are pretty inexpensive – especially considering how often we use them during the summer.)
- 1 cup, frozen strawberries
- 1 cup, frozen blueberries
- 2 cups, orange juice
- Ours has a lot of pulp, but that’s totally optional.
See our ingredients below:

- Add all ingredients to blender and blend well. It should be able to be poured easily, but doesn’t have to be totally liquid.
- If it seems too thick, slowly add more juice (or water) and blend each time to desired consistency.
- Fill pop molds according to directions. We fill ours pretty close to the top.
- Freeze pops until frozen through – usually a couple of hours.
- Enjoy!

And that’s it. They are so simple, so versatile, and so tasty. I’m hoping to try more flavors soon!
Pro Tip: When you are ready to eat your frozen pops, run each pop under warm water for a few seconds before removing it from the mold. It will make it come out much more easily.
Pro Tip 2: We always let Little eat his pops outside while wearing his “painting shirt” (aka his art smock that wipes clean). This is really helpful when it’s time to clean up and saves his clothes from berry stains. [This one is our favorite and will fit for several years.]
I’d love to hear from you!

Absolutely! We love making these during the summer!
They sound so good! Probably I’ll have to try them with just the strawberries because my kids balk at other berries, though…
Thank you for sharing at The Really Crafty Link Party. Pinned.
I bet they would be just as tasty! (Strawberries are the favorite here, too! I can get away with blueberries if they’re mixed in though!)
