Last week, I quietly celebrated 6 months blogging here at Live Well Play Together. If you’ve been around here, you know that I started blogging back in 2012 personally and then took a long hiatus before feeling inspired to return and get back into things. Thus, this space was born. So much has changed since I started blogging and to say that there has been quite a learning curve since hopping back into the game is no exaggeration. But, I have so enjoyed myself with this new space.
There are about a thousand things to do in order to create a great quality post and even more to do after that to get people to read it. You might remember a few months ago, when I shared my Top 10 Tips for New Bloggers post with my top pieces of advice for bloggers just starting out. If you missed that post, go there right now in a new tab. It’s good. I still stand by all of those tips.
Today, I want to talk about something a little different, but still blog related. We’re going off our regularly scheduled lifestyle programming because I want to share with you some of the ways that I’ve been growing this space of mine. My hope with this post is to give you resources that you can use to bring in traffic to your blog and meet other bloggers that might share your interests.
How to Grow Your Blog with Link Parties
You’ve probably heard of a thousand ways to grow your blog and increase your traffic. That’s because there really are a ton of ways. One thing is for sure though, if you want to get your blog out there, you will have to do a lot of promotion in the beginning. Some of my favorite tools for this are joining and participating in Facebook groups, getting to know other bloggers, being active on social media, becoming a pro at Pinterest (still working on this one), and joining up with other bloggers for weekly link parties.
I could write a post on each of these things separately and I might just do that eventually, but today we’re focusing on Link Parties. Deal? Deal.
What is a Link Party?
Link parties and blog hops can be excellent tools for sharing your blog content, connecting with other bloggers, and finding inspiration and ideas. They are simple and fun – a great resource to all bloggers but especially to new bloggers who are trying to get their content out to a wider audience.
How Does a Link Party Work?
Each link party has a different theme and rules. Some are specifically for crafts and DIY projects, others for fashion, and others are more of a free-for-all. Either way, the process is really simple. You just swing by the host’s site, find the button that allows you to link up and post your link! Be sure to give some love to your hosts and stop by a few other links to spread the love. After all that is the point of a party, right?
Where Can You Find Link Parties to Join?
A quick search on Pinterest will actually lead you to a lot of really great link parties. Another way is to check out where your favorite bloggers are linking up. Many bloggers post this at the bottom of each post or in a separate page on their blog. In fact, that’s exactly what I’ve been working on to share with you all today.
I’ve spent the last few weeks, going through old posts and some of my favorite bloggers lists and I’ve compiled a list of over 140 link parties that you can add to your list. I’ve broken the list into two categories: Crafts/DIY/Lifestyle/Recipes and Fashion/Style. I think there’s something in there for everyone no matter what your niche is.
I’ve also listed each party by days of the week so you should have no trouble finding a party or parties to link to each day.
Find the Full List of Link Parties Here!
I’ve also added this list as a permanent page on the blog so you can easily bookmark it and reference it to make it simple. (See right at the top of the page?)
I’m always looking for new parties to add to the list so if you host a party and don’t see it listed, or if there is a party that you love, please be sure to let me know in the comments below.

Thanks so much for sharing and for the feature!
This is a fabulous list! I know I am really under-utilizing other link parties. Thanks for sharing this at the #happynowlinkup
Absolutely! I find myself needing to update it often. I’m aiming to update it quarterly, I think.
Hi Mary, I found your blog through another link party, but I wanted to mention to you that I’m one of 6 co-hostesses who have a link party that starts every Wednesday evening at 7:00 EST. It’s called Share Your Style and I hope you’ll come over and take a peek and then add it to your list. Thanks so much for putting this list together, because this is how I started out a few years back.
Carol – Thank you so much for stopping by! I’ve bookmarked your party and will definitely add it to the list! Thank you for letting me know about it!
Thank you for all your hard work. This is something I’ve been trying out lately doing link parties.
Absolutely! I hope this will be a helpful resource!
Not so oddly enough a linky party led me to you! #happynowlinkup
Thanks so much for putting together such a great resource!
Absolutely! I hope it will be a helpful resource!
Thank you for including Tip Tuesday. This link will pop people right into that section of my blog. I am also co-host of The Blogger’s Pit Stop which happens every Friday and can also be found through this link: http://elisecohenho.com/category/blog-sharing-link-party/
Absolutely; thank you for hosting the link up! I’ve added the Blogger’s Pit Stop to the Friday group. Thank you for letting me know about it!
Thank you for including the Simple Homestead blog hop in your list! I agree that blog hops and link parties are a GREAT way to grow your blog – thank you for participating in ours. 🙂
Absolutely! You have a great party!
I love the community around link parties.
Congratulations on your blogiversary.
Same – they are a great way to meet other bloggers. Thank you so much for stopping by. 6 months has gone by quickly, that’s for sure!
I started blogging in 2011, but took a break and recently (also quietly) celebrated my 1-year anniversary since I relaunched. Linky Parties are so helpful! Thanks for sharing at #HomeMattersParty
Happy 1 year of being back in the game! Times have changed since then, huh? SO many things to learn!
I have yet to link up anywhere but I have done a blog hop. I know that I need to start in order to really build some momentum. I’m in a party/event niche so it’s a little more focused. I’ll start looking for some specific party links for myself. Thanks for the tip.
There are lots of DIY link ups that would fit your posts! Hopefully you’ll find some that are worthwhile!
Thanks for sharing! I run two monthly linkups but am thinking of doing even more!
Absolutely! I hope it is helpful!
Thank you for sharing! I started blogging at the end of June and am struggling to grow my audience. Thank you for the tips! I’ll be checking them out for sure!
For sure! They can be really helpful especially for newer bloggers to get your content out there! You’ve got a great blog! Best wishes as you continue to grow with it!
That is awesome!
Thanks!
What a great blog post. When I was learning about blogging, years ago, I found link ups were a great way to meet other women who blogged. I have made several friends through link ups and still utilize them to push a post and connect with new bloggers.
xo, Lee
They can be really helpful! And there are lots of great style link ups that are really thriving!
I love this information. I have participated in link ups, but have never hosted any myself. It looks like that will have to change soon – Thanks to you 🙂
You know, as much as I love link parties, I’ve also never hosted one. I’m considering it for the new year though!
Thank you so much for sharing this valuable information! I did not know that I could use Pinterest to find link parties and I have learned so much! I’ve pinned your post! Thank you again!
Thanks so much, Angela! You really can find almost anything on Pinterest now days!
Great list of linkies, they are a great way to get backlinks and build friendships with other bloggers #bloggersbest
I completely agree! Thank you for stopping by!
Like you, i sort-of took a hiatus from blogging and am trying to get back in the saddle; your list of link-ups is awesome and I can’t wait to get going!
Welcome back! It’s a fun place to be! I hope you’ll find the list useful!
Wow, what a ton of work, Mary Leigh! *Thank you* for taking the time to do this – I’ve already pinned this post in a few places, but am totally going to pore over this list in greater depth at some point soon!
I’m not going to lie – it did take quite a bit of time, but I’m really hoping that it will be a great resource not only for myself, but for others as well! It’s helpful for me to have them in one place I can go to throughout the week!
I honestly did not know you could use pinterest to find these! Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely!
In over a year of blogging I still haven’t participated in a Link Party yet, thanks for sharing this!!
Absolutely! <3
A friend of mine was asking just yesterday if link parties were still a think – perfect timing for me!
Oh good! I have definitely seen some of them dying off, but others are still thriving!
Thanks for this great info! I saved it and will definitely be joining these parties!
Great! I’m glad it is helpful!
Thank you for this awesome list of link up parties. I’m newer to link-up parties. I am kind of like you, where I stopped blogging for awhile, and I’m getting back into blogging again. I’m glad that I found this post!
I’m glad you found it helpful! Welcome back to the blogging world!
Congratulations on your milestone! These are great tips!
Thank you!
One thing I really enjoyed in this article is the recommendations. You did not only explain the old techniques, yet you gave a practical and new approach to adopt. This is a great post.
Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I appreciate you stopping by!
I have never heard of the term until today. I’m actually enjoy hosting parties at home so when I saw party I was intrigued. Lol
Leslie H., SobeSavvy.com
I also enjoy home parties! Take a look to see if there are any that might benefit your blog!
I love link parties! I actually host one on my blog and co-host two others, plus I’ve participated in a number of blog hops. They really are a great way to share content and get to know other bloggers. I definitely need to check our your list though because I could be a lot better about participating in other ones regularly. Definitely bookmarking! Thanks Mary!
p.s. The one I host is called Inspire My Creativity and it’s craft/DIY/recipe/lifestyle link up. We post on the second Wednesday of each month and each co-host shares a post centered around a predetermined theme. I’d love for you to add it to your list! 🙂
Thanks so much, Shani! I’m happy to get your parties added to the list! I appreciate you sharing!
I’m totally going to check these out! I’ve never participated in a link party, partly because I’m afraid to commit to it, I think. But I know it would improve my blogging and help me stay focused on a few topics instead of too many.
You should! I’m sure you could find some in there that you would connect with!
Great list! You have some of my very favorite links. I did pin it too since you have a few listed that I had not checked out yet. I do, however, co- host two linky parties. Love to Learn hop every Tuesday and Virtual Refrigerator every Wednesday (Ourunschoolingjourney.com). I’d love to see them added to the list.
Thanks so much! I’ll have to check out your list, too! I’ve added the parties you mentioned; thanks for letting me know about them! I look forward to checking them out!
Has it been 6 months already?? Ahh that’s great, congrats!! Ha, I’ve actually never done a link party, I’ll have to check out your list!
I know – it’s hard to believe!
What a great round up of link parties! I love them but often forget to participate in them.
I used to use them all the time and have just recently gotten back into them. I think they’ve been really helpful!
This is so helpful! I join a couple of these but didn’t know about most of them. Thank you!!
Thank you! I’m glad you found it helpful!
A good list is a great tool. Thank you for sharing yours. 🙂
Thanks!! I hope you’ll be able to use it!
I definitely need to check that list out. I’ve been meaning to join more linky parties for awhile. :/ Thanks for sharing on This is How We Roll.
You totally should! I think there are parties for almost anyone on the list! I like having them all in one place. Makes it easy to reference!
Oh wow! This is my first time hearing of link parties. I am new to blogging so I appreciate this information. Can’t wait to get started on doing them!
I’m glad it’s helpful. Hopefully you’ll find some that are relevant to you!
What an awesome resource! It can be really time consuming to find places to link up so this is great. Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely! I like having them all in one place for easy reference! Let me know if you have others to add to the list!
What an incredible resource! Thanks so much for sharing!
Absolutely! There should be at least something for most bloggers there! Hopefully it will prove to be a useful resource!
This is great!! I’ve always looked for like a one stop shop on what link ups are out there. Thank you for pulling it together!
For sure! I hope it will be helpful!

Ironically enough, I found this post through a link party ? Thanks for taking the time to put together this list, I saw several I would love to participate in.
Oh good! There are so many great link parties out there. And I want to be sure to link back to the ones I visit and figured a directory of sorts would be helpful not just for myself but it others as well!
I do really like these posts! I’m trying to utilize link parties more often, and I do like finding new blogs and stopping by. Thanks for the list. I need to save that!
-Lauren
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you’ll find it to be a helpful resource!
hehee, found you by vising a link party. I’ve been (slowly) trying to grow my blog but seemed to let link parties fall by the wayside. Will be checking out your link party suggestions 🙂 Thanks!
They can be really useful! And you can find lots of other great bloggers through them as well!
This is so awesome! I remember when I built my book blog organically for 5 years that it was SO daunting doing so. Link parties sound like an excellent way to boost viewership and really help create more engagement, which is obviously a goal of mine some day down the road 🙂
Thank you! I remember finding your blog so many years ago! So much has changed since then!
Thank you for sharing this information! I haven’t really delved into link parties or blog hops up until now, so a little learning curve for me! Thanks for sharing these helpful suggestions on finding ones for our niche — I use Pinterest all the time, but don’t always think about using it for searches like this!
Absolutely!! There really are link parties for almost any niche!
Oh this is so great! I’ve been looking for other like minded bloggers with great content and this is going to be an amazing resource! Thanks so much for sharing all the info ❤️❤️❤️
I think you’ll really like the style parties! They’ve been really useful for me!
I’ve never heard of linking parties. Thank you for the information. Very I informative and increased my knowledge of ways to help my blog.
I’m glad you found it helpful!! Hopefully you’ll find some helpful link ups in the list!
Hmmm…interesting. I really want to grow my blog beyond friends and family but sometimes the process of that to still have quality readers seems overwhelming. This is some good info.
I’m glad you found it helpful. Your blog is beautiful! You’ve got such wonderful stories to share!
Yes ma’am! Love this! Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely! I’m glad it was helpful!
