Happy Monday, friends! I hope everyone had a great weekend! We’re continuing along with our pregnancy updates over here today with today’s 37 week pregnancy update. When I first announced our pregnancy, my intent was to do monthly updates. This worked out for a while, but as we are getting into the home stretch, it seems more natural to be updating more often. So here we are.

37 Week Pregnancy Update
Last week, I mentioned that it was crazy for me to get my head around the fact that the littlest one could decide to make his appearance any day now. This week, I’m even more aware of it as 37 weeks technically marks full-term in pregnancy land. Little was 5 days past his due date though, so I really don’t have any indication as to whether this one will be early, on-time, or late. We shall see. But, honestly, I don’t want to rush it. I am trying hard to prepare well and to soak in every little last bit of time with just Little that we have.
How far along? 37 weeks + 4 days. So baby could really be here anytime.
Maternity clothes? Yes and no. Still wearing whatever fits, which is mostly a mix of leggings, maternity jeans, oversized t-shirts, sweatshirts, and a few warm maternity sweater. Although, for today’s post, I’m happy to be wearing what is evidently one of the most versatile pieces in my closet – a non-maternity swing dress from Old Navy that I picked up off of the clearance rack during our trip to Boston last year. I tried it on recently just for kicks and realized it comfortably fit over the bump and looks cute, so I’ve been wearing it on repeat.
Stretch marks? Again, how can you even tell. I’ve got stretchmarks on my belly. Who know if they are new or not. In any regard, they aren’t dark and screaming at me, so I just let them be. I do use oil almost daily to keep my skin well moisturized, but any hopes of not having stretchmarks disappeared in 2015 when Little was growing.
Sleep: No big change other that Little slept through the night in his big boy bed one night last week and that was HUGE. (Of course he skipped his nap that day so there’s that.) I don’t get a ton of sleep to be honest and I’m up during the night to shift positions, use the bathroom, and walk Little back to his room sometimes. But, I am feeling fine during the day, so I’m not mad about it. I’ve been using the mornings before everyone else gets up to get some of my own work done and I’ve been thankful for that. I know in a few weeks, sleep will become a priceless gem.
Best moment this week: Going to the doctor and confirming baby is head down. This might seem crazy, but it has been my biggest concern as pregnancy has progressed – just wanting to be sure he gets into position for labor.
Movement: Yes – especially at night. It’s like a party in there.
Food cravings: Depends on the day. I’ve been eating lots of junk these days it seems like. I have got to get it under control. I keep telling myself I will once the baby gets here, but is that even true? Probably not without some preparation. Hoping to pull together some quick and easy healthy snacks to have on hand ASAP.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Fortunately no. Pregnancy is really good to me and I am really thankful.
Labor Signs: Not really. I feel more pressure some days and especially if I’ve been on my feet a lot, but that’s to be expected as baby continues to grow.
Belly Button in or out? Out. Like way out. it’s been game over for the innie belly button for months.
Wedding rings on or off? On. I might be able to make it through with them on. (Fingers crossed!) They are getting tighter though, that’s for sure.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Not really moody, but definitely a little anxious. I am making lists to remember all the little things that need to be prepared. Keeping the laundry done, pantry stocked, etc. so that we are best prepared when he arrives.
Weekly Wisdom: You can really only plan so much. I’m working hard to get things ready and prepared over here, but really, can you every be totally ready for a new baby?
Milestones: Testing negative for Group-B Strep and the doctor confirming that I had started to dilate. I was 4 cm dilated the day before I went into labor with Little and he was still late, so I don’t take this to mean we’ll deliver early. But I was thankful to know that my body is starting to make some progress.
The Look
*BONUS: Everything in this outfit (except the sneakers) is less than $25! Links to similar items are in the caption and most are on sale!
As I mentioned before, this whole look is non-maternity which is shocking to me, really. I picked up this dress from Old Navy (similar here) after season during our fall trip to Boston last year. It’s got short sleeves, so it’s technically a spring dress, but it’s black so it works in the fall and winter, too if you layer it correctly.
After a week of bitter cold in NC, we had some days of really mild and lovely weather so I was able to wear it with just a lightweight sweater and fleece lined leggings.
Of course, I paired it with my Converse sneakers because I still have to be practical when I’m running around and these White Chuck Taylor’s go with everything.
Such a simple look, but when you can only fit into about 10% (maybe) of the things in your closet, it’s nice to find an outfit that makes you feel well put together. At least every now and then!

You’re so adorable! I agree with you on the stretchmarks; I’m not super sure if I’m getting more or if the old ones are just looking more intense… :/
I can’t wait to see this baby boy!

You look so good! And this outfit is absolutely lovely on you!

Look at you!! SO exciting! (I had Miss Andi at 37 weeks on the dot!)
Thank you so much! I don’t think I’m quite ready yet, but we’ll be 38 weeks this week and I really am starting to feel like we could go any day!
I love this outfit! The best part is that you can restyle that dress during the warmer boots and during fall 🙂

Yes! You know I am ALL about versatility!
You look so wonderful! I love your fabulous outfit. What an awesome find!
You can never go wrong with a pair of Chucks! 🙂 I’m happy to see that you are healthy and almost there. Wishing you an easy labor and delivery!
Thank you so much! Chucks are perfect for almost everything!
I love this look on you! Comfy and practical was always my go-to when pregnant. That is great the baby is head down. My first son was breech until he flipped right before. I was so nervous but it all worked out. I’m so excited for you and can’t wait to hear the news! Sierra~Beautifully Candid
Thanks so much, Sierra! I really appreciate it! Him being in position has been my main concern since my pregnancy has been really uneventful so I was really thankful to have that confirmed!
You’re looking great! I found so many non-maternity dresses worked in my pregnancies, they were go-tos for me, especially in the heat here!
While I love your outfit, I’m mostly amazed you managed to lace up your shoes, haha! I had to give up laced up shoes in the third trimester, both times!
Hope that you are having a nice start to your week 🙂 Had my first day back at work after extended leave today so not the best day for me haha.
Away From The Blue Blog
Seriously, what is with our little ones and being so active at night when we’re trying to rest?! You look great and I can’t believe you’re so close!!
Thank you so much! You are close too!
Thank you for the update and I can’t believe at how baby could be here any day! I am also glad to hear that you are able to enjoy your pregnancy with not a complication like nausea or something like that. I have had friends who have had issues that prevented them to enjoy their pregnancy journey which honestly is hard because your body and emotions are going through so many changes that you at least want to be present for to remember this time. Looking forward to your next update. Hope you and family are having a good day.

Thanks so much, Maureen! It’s crazy for me to believe that we are so close to adding another, too! I am so thankful to not be sick during pregnancy. I’m definitely starting to feel more uncomfortable these days, but nothing too bad and I am so glad for that!
Wow! Looking Good! Hope everything continues to go well, the last few weeks can always be a bit rough.
Thank you so much! We are definitely getting close!
Loved the article. So relatable – as I am 36 weeks pregnant! I had to laugh out loud when I read “Movement: Yes – especially at night. It’s like a party in there.” Gosh! How I know too well about that! Haha – Wishing you a continued happy and healthy pregnancy (for the short time you have left!!) ☺️
Thank you so much! Why do they like to move around so much when we are trying to sleep! Preparation for newborn stage, I suppose!
This is such a cute look! Fleece-lined tights and leggings have been a lifesaver for me with the recent weather. It sounds as though you’re pretty well prepared for whatever may happen in these next few weeks!
Yes! They make getting through the winter so much better! I wear them with dresses and even under some pants when it’s really cold!
