Shamrock Crispy Treats
You make these just the same as the classic crispy treats, but use green sprinkles and icing along with shamrock cookie cutters for a themed St. Patrick’s Day snack.
Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp butter (1/2 stick)
- 5 cups crispy cereal (Rice Krispies brand or store brand – they taste the same in the recipe to me.)
- 1 (10 oz) bag of marshmallows
- 2 handfuls of green Sprinkles
- In hindsight, I wish I had used brighter green sprinkles – so get the bright green ones if you can!
- Green icing for writing
- Shamrock Cookie Cutters
Directions
- Melt butter over medium-low heat.
- Stir in marshmallows – stirring continuously until they have melted.
- Mix until smooth.
- Add in cereal and sprinkles.
- Stir until cereal is evenly coated in marshmallows.
- Press into a greased 9×13 pan to cool.
- Once cooled, use cookie cutters to cut out shamrock shapes. (TIP: spray sides of cookie cutters with cooking spray to avoid sticking.)
- I used the 4″ cookie cutters and could get 8-10 treats. You’ll be able to get more with the smaller one, of course.
- Use the green icing to outline the shamrock shape.
And that’s it. I love a good festive treat and these are just perfect for the occasion! Simple, easy, ready in less than 20 minutes and so tasty!

What do you do with the left over treats after cutting? You don’t eat them?! 😇 love this!! February is my hardest month so I’m feeling enthusiastic that we’re headed to spring. These treats are such a cute idea- may have to buy a cookie cutter just to make them <3 Jamie
Girl. Eat them. Just like licking the bowl after you make brownies. We try not to waste around here. 😉
